Cowboy Hall exhibit with longhorns

Have you ever wondered about the cowboy life -

the excitement, danger, and hard work of those who drove cattle from Texas to western South Dakota?

Displays in the Cowboy Hall feature saddles, historic rifles and shotguns, and even mounted Texas longhorn cattle.

Native American artifacts display

Do you wonder about the life and impact of Native Americans in this region?

Beautiful beaded artwork, a Ghost Dance shirt, and ceremonial pipes are featured.

Pioneer Womens' clothing display

Was western life all hard work and practical clothing?

You will see some of the fashions that women wore at home and when they stepped out for social events.

This place is great! I took my three kids ages 10, 7, & 4 and they had a blast. They have so many items from the 1800s and early 1900s. Their favorite room was the pony express, blacksmith and saloon room. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the Spearfish area. It is very affordable, too.
